This is my first attempt at the ‘Art to Inspiration’ Project which was started by Supal. How did I know about this project? From a fantastic photographer who goes by the name of Smita!
A little introduction on the project:
Art to Inspiration is a collaborative project organized to bring exposure to the art community around the world. We feature any medium of art from young artists and design posts to share how we have been inspired by the piece.
How it works is:
Each blogger will publish a post of their inspiration on his or her own blog the first Wednesday of each month. The good news is, you don’t have to be a blogger to participate, just email Supal (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your inspiration! To introduce the month’s artwork and artist, she will send an email two weeks before the scheduled post. Within 48 hours of posting, she will organize all the inspiration boards into an album on Facebook for everyone to view and share!
You can read more about the project here 😀
The piece of Art for this August is:
- Title: …now imagine all the strange birdsong thick as the Forest
- Name of Artist: Lara Harwood
- URL: click here!
Here’s my ‘Art to Inspiration’ piece:
When I saw the beautiful sketch by Lara Harwood with all its tropical colours it reminded me of my home in Borneo. After a few seconds another image popped into my mind: my DIY braided bracelets (including the daisy bracelet) on a summer’s day a while back. The colours match the beautiful sketch of nature.
The story is that I started DIY-ing persistently in the past year to mainly cope with stress and it has been helpful in easing my poor, fried brains. My DIY work has also brought in quite a few fans (thanks guys!), and even buyers which has been quite unexpected! Even if I am not in the line of work I’d love to be in currently, I am constantly being inspired and hopefully one day that creative inspiration will become reality! 😀
